You have noticed that I changed the colour of the links back to blue. I am trying to make my website more usable. Usability experts like Jacob Nielsen recommend not to break the habits of users by changing links colour using CSS or any other method. I think one of the two is enough: having either underlined text or blue text. Again a visited link colour should be different than the unvisited link because every user should know what he or she visited.
I still need a lot of work to achieve a more usable website. I will use this as an exercise for myself.
